Next week (June 5-11) is Commuter Challenge, you guys! People/businesses/cities will challenge each other to commute green. That includes cycling, walking, carpooling and telecommuting. I seem to recall someone canoeing to work during last year’s challenge.
This year in honour of Commuter Challenge I will be cycling to work with my town bike instead of my 21-speed mountain bike. It’ll be an interesting 6.5kms.
Happy trails (literally)

It has been forever and ever since I blogged. In my defense, taking care of a 14-month old while working full time keeps me busy. But also happy!
So this comes a little after-the-fact, and we all have Royal Wedding fatigue, but I wanted to post a picture of my Union Jack cupcakes.
Made with vanilla cake mix and canned icing (no homemade here! Please refer to first paragraph), these treats were a hit at the office. One lady said “you’re such a mom”. Thanks, Carol! 🙂
In a related story, stroll down memory lane and have a looksee at this original Charles and Diana mug.
I had fun gift wrapping today. It’s like making a sculpture out of bits and pieces of craft supplies.
I love stenciling. I also love crafting. So when I came across The Complete Book of Stencilcraft by JoAnne C. Day at the Women in Need thriftstore I became very excited.
Stencilcraft? That's a thing? Yes, please!
The book contains techniques on creating stencils and applying them to various surfaces.
Here's a far out stencil mural. Did I mention this book was published in 1974?
Two thirds of the book contains stencil patterns. I got really excited when I saw this. I love the white font on black background design of this page.
Oh, hi cutie! You belong on my wall.
The lovely stenciling pioneer JoAnne C. Day
I hope to get some time soon to stencil something in my house.
